When in search of a gift for an African American family, why not consider an African American Museum Gift Shop? You will find a warm and welcoming atmosphere in this establishment. The gift items can be ordered online or through the gift card program. There are hundreds of different types of coffee, tea and hot chocolate selections to please any palate. The shop has an eclectic mixture of wines, beers, liquors, snacks, candies, chocolates, sweet treats and just about anything you can think of. If it's local, they have it.

This is a wonderful little black and white art gallery and restaurant. In addition to being an art gallery, the restaurant serves wonderful food and beverages as well. In fact, the restaurant was named after the great Afro-American civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr. who was born in Atlanta Georgia. There is a historic marker that points to the birthplace of King. You will also find a beautiful statue of King that sits upon a marble tribute at the entrance of the restaurant.

Known as a cultural quarter, Atlanta is filled with world class restaurants, bars, dance halls and more. A large portion of the population here is Black or African American. Many famous musicians are Black. This includes T.I., Outkast, Erythmia, Outkast guitarist Peekay, and singer Beyonce Knowles. Many of these artists have made their home cities much larger than they were when they were young. The Atlanta University Center is a great place for the cultural minded traveler to see all that Atlanta has to offer.

Another favorite among aficionados of black-owned coffee shops is Sweet Tomatoes. They have locations in five states including Alabama, Texas, New Mexico and California. If you are looking for a comforting restaurant where you can relax with your feet up, this is the one to go to. This is located in the Midtown area of Atlanta. This place serves authentic Southern food along with a large variety of teas and baked goods. It's the kind of place that you want to go to if you ever come to Atlanta.

If you love Southern cuisine but cannot stomach a cup of real coffee, visit any of the Atlanta Georgia locations of Afroluxe Cafe or Breakthrough Coffee House. Both of these places serve only the best tasting coffee from various regions around the world. The owner, Ron Kirby, started the business in 1992. He wanted to create a space that would have a relaxed atmosphere where people could come and enjoy a cup of delicious Southern-flavored coffee while enjoying some good company. This led him to purchase a former drugstore called The Grill On 33rd Street, a space that is now converted into an Afroluxe Cafe.

Another hip and happening place in Atlanta are the cozy Lula Benz Lemon Juice Bar and Deli. This historic gem is located inside of Atlanta's Midtown district and is run by former Miss Lula Benz, who is best known for her lemonade and herbal body care products. Her store sells a wide selection of organic, vegan and gluten-free foods, including sandwiches, salads, desserts, cookies, candies and so much more. You'll also find a craft section with a giant taffy section and a number of homemade potpourri kits. What better way to start off your day than with a T-Taffy?

If coffee is your thing, you should stop by the Blind Pig on Central Market Street in downtown St. Louis. You can savor a delicious breakfast sandwich as you sip your cold beverage while taking in all the beautiful sights of the city. If the sun is shining, you can even sit outside for a cup of tea or some hot cocoa. In case you are feeling adventurous, stop by at the Peet's Coffee Shop and try some of their tasty iced tea and iced coffee. They also have gluten-free and soy-free choices for you to enjoy as well.

If you're looking for a unique way to end your day, stop by the cozy Ollie's Irish Pub and enjoy a few glasses of wine as you sip on your favorite scotch. The Ollie's Irish Pub has four different rooms featuring the most delicious Irish beverages and appetizers. You will also be able to choose from a variety of appetizers, including colcannon soup, fennel sausage, spinach artichoke quesadilla, cornichon salad and chicken noodle soup. It won't be long until you have a wonderful experience coming to one of the great African American coffee shops in the St. Louis region. So stop by and enjoy a quiet evening at one of these St. Louis coffee shops.
