Five Quick Tips Regarding Cell Phone Coverage

There are so many options out there these days, it can be quite confusing when deciding on which provider's cell phone plans and coverage areas you should go with. An In Depth Cell Phone Coverage Map comparison can really help you make up your mind. Options are certainly great, but just too many will make decision-making sometimes feel quite overwhelming. With so many cell phone providers to choose from, do all of us want to just pick the most expensive one with the greatest service, or do we really need to pick the right one for our own personal needs? Granted, sometimes a decent cell phone signal booster can work wonders on even the strongest signal, but then again, why lay all that unnecessary stress on your receiver…

You see, if you are like me, the thought of choosing the right cell phone coverage for your particular needs can sometimes be stressful. I know that this may sound somewhat ridiculous, given the fact that there are thousands upon thousands of cell phone providers out there, but I can assure you that each and every one of them offer different service plans and signal boosters. And because of this fact, it can actually be quite confusing knowing which carrier will give you the most reliable service and, more importantly, which one will work well in your location.

For example, if you live in a place that is serviced by AT&T, you have no choice but to accept their limited coverage. That includes T-Mobile, whose GSM cell phones also use AT&T's GSM network. As you might have guessed, T-Mobile specifically uses the GSM signal in order to deliver voice calls. This means that if you are calling AT&T, you won't be able to place voice calls over other networks, such as the Cell Phone Short Message Service (CDS) or the Digital Subscriber Line (DSL).

If you have to choose between Verizon and AT&T, the obvious choice would seem to be AT&T, which offers the most complete cellular phone coverage for a lower price. The problem is that their CDMA and Verizon Wireless Network Coverage (WSN) services are both weak. In other words, Verizon's CDMA is known as Verizon Extended Range Service (VERS) and AT&T's GSM network is called AT&T Extended Market Service (UMTS). These two services are not designed for people who need a lot of mobile phone coverage, so when you pick one of these two carriers, you really don't have much of a choice. In order to get the best cell phone coverage, you will have to move from one carrier to the other.

For example, if you live in New York City but work in Los Angeles, you will need to move to a different carrier. If you live in New York City and work in San Francisco, you will need to move to a different carrier if you want good cell phone coverage in San Francisco. It is very important to know what your carrier does because it means you can take full advantage of the technology provided by your provider and use it in the places where you might need it. For example, if you live in San Francisco and work in New York, you might not want to pay more for San Francisco's GSM service because you can get the same coverage with Verizon Wireless Network Service for a little less money. So it is important to know what kind of coverage you need and then find out which service has it, whether it be CDMA GSM, or UMTS.

Then you need to look at carrier coverage maps. If you do not know where you live, you cannot use an Internet site that provides this information. Instead, look up a map of your area, including all the major cities, and find a site that gives you a map of the coverage that you will receive from each major cell carrier in your area. Look up your zip code first, as the signal strength will depend on where you live. Then look at the strength of each of the signal towers in your area. If you live near a large city, there may be more towers, giving better cell phone coverage than if you lived closer to a smaller town.

You may also want to look at the coverage that the main carriers have in your area. Sometimes they will add coverage to areas where they already have it, such as Sprint PCS and T-Mobile. However, this may not always be the case, especially if you have used one of these carriers for years and you are used to only getting network covers from them. If you like one of these carriers, you should check out their coverage maps and determine which network covers your zip code.

The final thing to consider when checking out the coverage maps is how well each of the main carriers serves the area you are moving to. For example, AT&T's tri-band antennas are mostly confined to the southern part of the US, whereas Verizon's are mostly confined to the northern part of the country. So, if you are thinking about moving to Canada, or a different part of the country, make sure that the cell phone carriers serving you that way have service in your new home. If you move to an area where all of the major cell phone carriers are present, you should take the time to check out the maps and find out exactly where each of the towers is located and whether it has the coverage you need to stay connected no matter where you go.
