The change means that spouses of American citizens who are eligible for a visa will be able to stay in the USA for more than one year. The change means that the spouse will be able to apply for a visa for both spouses. This may seem like an odd change but it is part of the US Visa Bulletin.

There are some who believe that this change will result in a decline in American Immigration. However, no such decline has occurred. There is also some concern that the spouses of American citizens who work abroad will not be able to leave the country to apply for a visa once the new law comes into force. This is another ploy by the Americans to stop the illegal immigrants from coming to the USA under the visa provisions. The US Visa Bulletin says that the spouses of such workers will not be allowed to apply for visas.

The visa changes affect different visa numbers. These numbers also have different requirements. Some visa numbers will require information about American employment such as proof of residence and work permits. These visa numbers also cover children who are brought into the US as their own children by American citizens or children of US citizens who are present in the country without legal consent. This is not a law that is present in all countries. So this is not likely to be applicable in all cases.
